Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a Plating Technician I to support its Plating Department. Selected applicant will be Responsible for overall maintenance of tooling functions in plating operations. Perform inventory control of plating shop materials, and tooling (building anodes and cathodes, as required). Responsible for the waste treatment operations through pumping and cleaning plating tanks, and monitoring the waste treatment area.

This position may be assigned to one or more departments depending upon the company needs at the time.

Essential Duties
This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned task. May be assigned some or all duties indicated below depending on job progression level.

  • Design and build anodes for chrome, nickel, and cadmium plating.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all plating shop equipment and chemicals.
  • Perform inventory control of plating shop equipment, chemicals, and hazardous waste.
  • Perform plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Train Plating Technicians and junior personnel in use of the equipment and processes.
  • Control tooling and provide an estimate of tooling expenses to management.
  • Assist in calibration and service on rectifiers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance control.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Adhere to all the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Responsibility to work with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Performs other duties as required by business needs.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Certification/Licensure: Preferred: Welding certification

Experience: Landing Gear and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities . Superior presentation and negotiation skills . Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and ability to multitask tasks from multiple administrators. SAP Knowledge.
