You will work under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional and assist individuals to meet their daily living activities. Our Direct Support Professional role is responsible to provide support in a hospital setting. As a Direct Support Professional, we expect you to have compassion and understanding, patience and strong interpersonal skills.

Furthermore, we expect you to be compassionate towards others and have strong problem-solving skills.

A high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license is required for this position.

A psychology course and or working with behavioral patients is highly beneficial for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate individuals' participation in daily life (e.g. grooming, hygiene, dressing, eating, home maintenance, personal care and preparing meals).
• Facilitate individuals' participation in leisure (e.g. relaxation, entertainment and personal interests).
• Provide medical assistance (e.g., vital signs check, preserves medications).
• Ensure safety of the individual (e.g. assist with transfers to safety).
• Ensure the safety of others (e.g. use of devices).
• Support individuals' development of independent living skills (teach care providers about each individual's support needs).
• Provide emotional support and participate in activities to prevent behavioral complications.
• Maintain daily logs to record details for reporting and communicate with staff regarding issues.
• Provide basic services that differ according to the individual's specific needs and preferences.
• Assist with community outings.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 per hour AND $55 per diem with hotel accommodations

Shift: 2nd (3pm-11pm), and 3rd (11pm-7am)

Duration: 13-week assignments (ongoing)
