Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company's sole discretion and the wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At SNAHC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $206,323.83-$279,144.01

Position Summary:

The Podiatrist (POD) reports to the Medical Director and provides comprehensive, high quality, acute and chronic podiatric care, including health promotion and preventive care to a multicultural, multilingual patient population.

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnoses and treats foot diseases and deformities, including but not limited to, ulcers, skin or nail diseases, congenital or acquired deformities such as corns, calluses, in-grown nails, shortened tendons, bunions, cysts, ulcerations, infections, and abscesses.
  • Prescribes and/or dispense medications, corrective footwear, supportive stockings and braces and can fabricate or fit prosthetic appliances.
  • Advises patients concerning continued treatment of disorders and proper foot care to prevent recurrence.
  • Refers patients to other healthcare provides when symptoms observed in feet and legs indicate systemic disorders.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations, board certification, and professional licenses.
  • May train podiatry students, interns, and residents within healthcare settings.
  • Accepts internal and external referrals of patients.
  • Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including HIPAA, sexual harassment, scope of practice, OSHA, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited School of Podiatry.
  • Documented completion of a residency from an accredited institution specializing in Podiatry.
  • Board certified in Podiatry and licensed to practice Podiatry in the State of California.
  • Eligible to obtain CS and DEA registration as required.
  • Able to chart visits comprehensively and complete E&M coding in compliance with medical coding standards.
  • Care and compassion in working with low income, indigent, and/or substance abusing individuals; Skill in working with people of varied social, ethnic and economic backgrounds.
  • Experience with Nextgen or other electronic health record system.
  • Experience in a nonprofit and community clinic setting.
