Postdoctoral Scholar - Department of Physiology

Position responsibilities: Research 100% - Plans and directs experiments. - Identifies original research projects, experiments, and research directions. - Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to accomplish research objectives - Independently prepares abstracts, research reports, and manuscripts for publication. - Participates in grant preparation and submissions. - May supervise undergraduate/graduate students and research technicians. - Maintains a safe laboratory environment and ensures compliance with governmental and University policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. - Performs other job-related assignments as assigned.

Qualifications

Interested candidates with candidate should have a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D., in relevant fields (ideally within the last three years) with extensive experience in cell/molecular biology, and metabolism.

The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in life sciences and/or medicine and experience in cell/molecular biology, in vivo physiology, or in vitro pharmacology demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications or thesis work. The technical requirements for this position are first-hand experience with the analysis of large-scale biological data, cell and tissue culture, molecular biology as well as interest in working with transgenic animals and disease models.
