Denise Louie Education Center is a local nonprofit providing comprehensive, multi-cultural early education and family support services to low-income, at-risk immigrant, and refugee communities residing in King County for over 40 years. Today, Denise Louie serves nearly 950 children and families with preschool, home visiting, and socialization groups-all of which are offered at no cost.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Preschool Education Supervisor to join our team. The Education Supervisor oversees a DLEC childcare site, providing supervision of teaching staff to ensure children have a high-quality preschool experience. The Education Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that all licensing, Federal, State and City requirements are being followed at their site.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure center policies and practices are compliant with funder?s performance standards and applicable federal, state, local and licensing rules and regulations.
  • Develop professional development goals with teaching staff based upon data and monitoring; provide team and individual guidance, training and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive working climate within the center by recognizing and sharing staff accomplishments
  • Establish and maintain work and classroom schedules that meet program standards, licensing, and labor laws.
  • Review Child Master files and database to ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Monitor assessments and documentation to ensure they are completed within deadlines to meet program requirements.
  • Support teachers in the collection and input of child outcomes data.
  • Collect data on classrooms using Creative Curriculum to Fidelity.
  • Establish and monitor site classroom budgets so that they adhere to DLEC?s policies.
  • Coordinate with Family Services, Preschool Health, Enrollment and other Education staff members to provide seamless services for children and families.
  • Provide guidance to staff in the development and implementation of parent classroom meetings and ?End of the Year Celebrations?.
  • Participate in identifying qualified candidates and recruitment of teaching staff. Train new staff on Education policies and procedures.
  • Act as reporting agent for suspected cases of child abuse and neglect. Follow appropriate procedures to ensure compliance and support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
  • Three years of experience working with families and children from infant to age five.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Prior experience in a setting providing education, health or social services to diverse communities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and another language (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Somali, or Vietnamese) preferred.

Salary: $58,000 - $59,000

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Physical Demands: To perform the job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The incumbent will be required to lift and carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to routinely kneel, bend, crouch and sit on the floor for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: The work is typically performed in an early childhood school environment, with moderate to loud noise level. Occasional travel to other site locations is needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
