About the Position:

The Sunny Wolf Charter School Board of Directors is seeking a highly qualified educational leader with successful

elementary teaching and/ educational administrative experience, preferably in a Charter or Private School for the

2023-2024 school year with a start date of August 17 2023. Rural school experience is a plus. The successful candidate

should exhibit the following qualities and qualifications.

1. Provides visionary leadership in accordance with the school’s mission and charter, while

demonstrating a thoughtful, inclusive approach to governance.

2. Strong academic preparation and background with demonstrated ability to continue

high academic student performance and support testing.

3. Performs classroom observations and evaluations on a regular basis and gives constructive feedback.

4. Promotes professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.

5. Promotes Art and Music in the school with lots of opportunities for participation and events.

6. Works closely with the Office Manager, Pre-school director and SWCS Board.

7. Highly visible in the school and community; actively participates in school and community activities.

8. Demonstrates strong communication skills, (verbally, digital or written) and communicates effectively with the staff,

students, parents, community, and SWCS school board of directors, as well as the Three Rivers sponsoring school district.

9. Is approachable, accessible and listens to others with an open mind.

10. Demonstrates sensitivity and respect toward students, staff, and families.

11. A proven record of successful elementary teaching and administrative experience.

12. Understands Oregon and Federal school finance, demonstrates sound fiscal management and budgeting skills; willing

to seek alternative funding strategies such as grant writing.

13. Demonstrates strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities and communicate them clearly.

14. Committed to serving and advocating for all students and staff.

15. Serves as a role model for the school, the community, and the district with integrity and honesty.

16. Desires a long-term commitment with the school.

17. Follows through with any discipline issues, (involving students or staff) that are brought to the administrator’s

attention, and works to bring about resolution.

The board will offer a salary range of $72,000. to $74,000. to the successful candidate. The successful candidate must hold or qualify for a Charter School Registry Administrative License, or other Administrative License.

About Our School:

The Sunny Wolf Charter School is located in rural Wolf Creek, Oregon and has a student population of 105, with 21 staff

members. Many families are impoverished. We provide a safe environment with nutritious meals and a challenging

academic program with high expectations. Our school is considered a highly performing school academically by the

State of Oregon and we were named a model school by the State. There is a teacher and assistant in every classroom.

Our school is a positive environment where the students are happy and learning. Due to our small size, all teachers and

students know each other. We have lots of art and music opportunities, events, a school garden, and full computer lab.

We have a 4-day school week, Monday-Thursday. Everyone at our school is dedicated to the students and their success.
