Veranex has partnered with Genius Talent to hire a Principal Electrical Engineer. Reporting to the Director of Software and Electrical Engineering, the Principal Electrical Engineer leads and executes electrical design and specification activities through all phases of the product development process – from initial design to final manufacturing transfer. This role must stay abreast of current methods and trends in electrical engineering, consumer electronics, and consumer communications. The candidate will also provide robust, cost-effective electrical engineering solutions for medical products and equipment designed by Veranex’s product development staff that is shipped to clients in the U.S. and abroad.

Responsibilities
    A broad range of electrical engineering skills including mastery of digital and analog circuit design, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping and debugging
    Familiarity with Altium is preferred
    Mastery of Design for Manufacturability and Design for Test techniques, including domestic and non-domestic sourcing
    Basic technical project management skills, including communication with Program Manager, Mechanical, Software, Electrical, Quality, Regulatory, and Research Engineers
    External communication includes OWM factories, suppliers, and clients at a technical level
    Assumes the role of electrical engineering lead in Class II and III medical device projects
    Provides feedback to management during the project quoting and project planning process
    Works with Quality Engineering to author, organize, execute, and direct testing procedures to ensure compliance with design specifications and lifecycle requirements
    Mentor engineers in electronics and medical device product design practices
    Make technical presentations to the R&D staff
    Research, evaluate, and present recommendations for new electronics design tools, including software applications and test equipment
    Contribute to authoring and maintaining SOPs, WISs, and Best Practices documents to standardize the product design process
    Write new production test procedures to ensure FDA compliance
Requirements

    Successful communication skills, business acumen and assertive decision-making abilities

    Flexibility to multi-task and perform a wide range of activities
    Excellent computer skills, including MS Office proficiency
    Possess a solid background in the design, manufacturing, and sourcing of electrical components.
    Ability to prototype, simulate, debug, and test circuits is required.
    Thorough knowledge of IEC-60601 and related standards is essential.
Education and Experience
    Preferably a MSEE degree
    Minimum of Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited College/University (e.g., Product Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical).
    15-20 years of electrical engineering experience within the medical device/equipment industry
