Principal Quality Engineer: You will work closely with your Manager, Development and Business Leads, Project Managers to design, develop, execute and maintain automated testing

MAJOR FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES - Describe the major responsibilities of this job. Indicate approximate percentage of time spent on each. If applicable, please include the number of employees supervised by this position.

• Design and build automation framework from scratch
• Define and strategize automated testing needs on projects
• Execute, maintain and update automated test suites using industry standard automated tools
• Work independently, with minimum supervision
• Work as a lead on smaller projects, guiding junior team members
• Create and execute detailed test cases based on functional specifications
• Develop test plans and test strategy documents based on business requirements
• Review test plans with project team and garner feedback
• Modify and maintain existing test cases as needed based on updated functionality
• Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, system, regression and user acceptance testing
• Report, review and retest defects and ensure that all important defects have been resolved at the appropriate level prior to product release
• Participate in defect triage discussions

RECOMMENDED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS - List the minimum academic credentials and/or professional certification needed to perform this job. Also indicate experience or skills required.

• At least 8 years’ experience in testing web-based and/or mobile applications
• Superb technical leader with proven record of leading the testing of complex applications and functionalities
• Bachelors’ degree in a related field. Masters’ Degree preferred
• Strong knowledge and experience with industry standard defect management tools
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
• Strong problem-solving capabilities
• Experience in estimating and forecasting project needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledgeable in quality management practices
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
• Experience working with offshore and geographically spread out development and testing teams
• Completed or working towards industry standard testing certification
• Experience and exposure to SOX compliance and audits
