The Strategic Partnerships team is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for managing third-party platform providers who support our clients. Working in collaboration with our lines of business and technology partners, this team manages the engagement process with these partners, oversees the financial model, enhances the integrated functionality with the providers and collects market intelligence to determine future demands for services.
Position Summary
The Relationship Manager will develop the strategic plan for managing and growing key existing third-party partner relationships. The Relationship Manager will have primary responsibility for the overall relationships to ensure we are maximizing our revenue potential and positioning our services for success. Engages directly with clients serviced by our strategic partners to understand needs and identify opportunities to evolve client business for incremental account growth.
Job Responsibilities
Consult with third-party platform providers on their strategic vision and how this vision matches the Pershing vision and strategy
Manage assigned third-party partner relationships and balance the diverse needs of partners who may also be competitors, clients and/or vendors
Accountable for the overall relationship financial model and achieving financial goals for assigned partners
Develop a collective integrated roadmap with partners based on our joint client needs
Research client issues with the partner, engage with them to understand solution options and implement selected options to bring issues to resolution
Conduct frequent and regular check-ins with assigned partners, ensuring our strategies and execution plans remain aligned
Develop, track and report on relationship strategy and results for assigned partners
Contribute to the development of team/unit metrics, dashboards, and roadmaps
Respond to internal and external clients’ products and services inquiries
Ensure to account for risk, regulations, and market conditions in the management of the third-party providers
Attend industry events and conferences to remain visible in the market and remain current on industry trends and competitor services / offerings

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred
7-10 years of total work experience preferred
An understanding of Financial Services and previous experience working with wealth management or financial technology preferred, as is prior experience in Relationship Management, Client Services or Account Management
Strategic thinker with problem-solving aptitude able to work in a consultative manner with clients to deliver beyond expectations
Comfort with ambiguity
High attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with a variety of personalities and positions

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $63,000 and $140,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
