About the Position

Seeking a balanced dog trainer who is excellent not only with obedience and behavior training, but also has strong "human training" and communication skills. Professionalism is top priority.

This will begin as a part time position (5-10 hours per week) and may transition to full time in 3-6 months.

You can expect to travel to clients' homes for for both 1:1 training sessions when the owner is not present as well as private lessons. Optionally, you may board trained dogs in your personal home. Pay is $85-90 per session based on experience and fit, and $80 per day for boarding dogs in your home.

No weekends or evenings required. Unlimited time off. Flexible schedule. This is an independent contractor position.

You must have extensive experience in puppy training/raising, basic obedience training, and off-leash training, including use of e-collar. We are a balanced dog training company and use prong collars, e-collars, and anything else that is deemed appropriate and effective for the dog at hand.

You must be near the Carlsbad area, as you will spend the day driving to clients' homes in Carlsbad.

In addition to extensive dog training experience, it's important that all members of our team are exceedingly charismatic, outgoing, and skilled at building relationships. You must be an excellent dresser, an early-arriver, and a prompt communicator.

Involvement in canine sports or competitive disciplines is strongly preferred.
