General Job Summary:
Responsible for scheduling surgeries, tests and maintaining provider’s calendar.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Handle all aspects of scheduling patients’ testing, surgeries (post and pre-op), and procedures including insurance pre-authorization.
  • Maintain/update physician(s) schedules and calendar(s).
  • Provides patient education per provider protocol.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external contacts regarding procedure equipment required by the provider.
  • Maintain patient information in an electronic health records and practice management system.
  • Answer messages, emails, and/or voice mails in a timely manner.
  • Compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.

Requirements:Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical certification required and two to five years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.

Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends. Travel as needed.

Work Environment:
Medical office. Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day. Repetitive data entry.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating weekends
