We’re looking for a motivated self-starter to join the Mission Systems Development, Quality, & Integrity (DQI) team that works alongside engineering organizations to enable excellence in project execution and foster continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

As a DQI team member, you will perform process assessments, facilitate metrics collection, advise the team and its leadership of trends and systemic issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to achieve project objectives. This role will work closely with the Mission Systems Communication & Navigation engineering teams within the Communication, Navigation, Guidance, & Sensors portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position requires that you read and understand engineering plans, processes, standards, regulations, and other requirements and documentation.

  • With the guidance from the Design Assurance team and leadership, you will:

  • Perform proactive, ongoing assessments to determine the quality health of engineering projects using objective criteria and known best practices.

  • Analyze project data for trends and systemic issues. Employ methods such as root cause analysis to develop recommended corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Provide guidance to engineering teams as needed in the areas of process and regulatory requirements to ensure effective project execution.

  • The ideal candidate will be capable of:

  • Establishing rapport across the organization, including leadership, engineering teams, shared service teams, and customers.

  • Communicating masterfully both verbally and in writing.

  • Assisting with engineering project planning activities to ensure plans consider program requirements and incorporate best practices and lessons learned.

  • Strong customer focus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance (Secret Level). Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience working in a design & development environment and/or within the product development life cycle.

  • Experience interpreting and understanding processes on a design & development program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the Collins Management System (CMS)
