Our client is looking for an excellent Process Engineer to join their exciting team immediately!

Location: Huntington Beach, CA

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time, On-site

Salary: $75, 000 to $95, 000 per year

Job summary

The Process Engineer will be responsible supporting new and ongoing programs for conformal coating working closely with various departments in Huntington Beach, CA and San Jose, CA. Candidates will need to exhibit ability to self-start with minimal supervision and have good communications between on-site/remote personnel and customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with OEMs and CMs to develop and optimize processes to meet customer requirements for products to survive extreme environments

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrated self-starter requiring minimal supervision

  • Work closely and provide support to multiple departments (production, quality, sales, etc.)

  • Strong presence on production floor to help solve development issues, failure analysis, and process improvement

  • Understanding of plasma systems used on electronics for surface modification and etch back

  • Programming for 3-axis equipment and validating conformance to engineering drawings

  • Ability to deploy and integrate skillsets in development of solutions

  • Passion of manufacturing work, knowledge-based development, documentation of procedures

  • Have ownership in process development and integration into production



Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

  • 3 to 5+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with conformal coating, potting, encapsulation, adhesives

  • Knowledge of chemical families and cure mechanisms for acrylic, urethane, epoxy, and silicone

  • Familiar with industry standards such as J-STD, IPC, ANSI, etc.

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to instruct technicians and operators

  • Occasional Travel



Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with chemical vapor deposition process, specifically parylene

  • Familiarity with basic cleanroom protocol

  • Knowledge of SPC, GD&T, CAD, CAM, FIPS

  • Experience with additive and subtractive manufacturing

  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9001, AS9100, NADACAP, etc.
