Job description

• Develop new material applications and processes
• Support all Carlex manufacturing facilities
• Implement and report on testing results and manufacturing process improvements
• Work with suppliers, tooling manufactures, process equipment manufactures and Plant personnel on new technology and process improvements in areas of glass cutting, grinding, painting, glass etching, and edge deletion of coatings
• Conduct training with plant personnel on the above principles and practical applications
• Establish the definition of testing requirements, standards and protocols to meet internal and external requirements for glass cutting, grinding, painting and coating deletion
• Define new testing methods or protocols for new products
• Review new equipment / technology options and make recommendations on new capital purchases
• Support install and launch of new equipment and processes
• Interpret a variety of customer specifications
• Brainstorm improved products and processes
• Develop IP to gain competitive edge
• Support technical issues in existing products and processes
• Support new program / product launches
