Summary:

The Process / Plant Engineer is responsible for managing engineering projects spanning from project design & implementation through continuous plant machinery improvements, and increased automation.

This position also works closely with the maintenance team and machine operators to troubleshoot more complex plant problems both on a daily and long term basis.

Responsibilities:

• Lead capital and maintenance projects; work with outside mechanical and automation integrators to deliver process components i.e., control valves, heat exchangers, control systems, drives and motors
• Troubleshoot plant process equipment problems and implement appropriate solutions
• Generates improvement ideas which may include the full implementation cycle from designs and quotes through the completion of the project
• Technical Plant liaison to support maintenance team in problem solving both daily and more complex issues
• Use existing systems to create project ROIs as needed
• Proactively develops, updates, and implements SOPs, PM procedures and work practices for improved reliability and quality
• Lead appropriate training on new and existing equipment and processes
• Support the implementation of a new CMMS program to improve down time and WO data collection
• Improve process efficiencies, increasing throughput, reducing scrap, and reducing product set-up time; identify sources of process variability and implement controls to minimize or eliminate variation, and reduce waste and work loss using Lean methodology
• Collect, analyze, and present data needed for continuous improvement initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following engineering fields; Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, and/or Industrial
• 3-5 years of related experience preferred
• Experience in Textile industry a plus
• Electrical experience is a plus

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent mechanical and technical skills required
• Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software is required
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills along with strong detail orientation

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time
• Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery
