Procurement Category Lead

Role Summary:

The Procurement Category Lead’s will collaborate with TireHub’s Leadership Team and cross-functional Teams to identify, negotiate, and select key vendors in various categories.

The Procurement Category Lead will own creating and managing the Strategic Cost Savings Plan and Roadmap to provide value for the business. They will need to assess our supply base, our internal customers, and be able to analyze market trends to report issues and drive actions to minimize the risk of interrupted supply.

Role Specifics:

Role is an indirect procurement role, will not be responsible for purchasing tires or tire materials.

Roles’ primary responsibility is to manage requirement development (RFP); Supplier/Vendor market research; Value analysis; Negotiation; Contract administration.

This role will manage Vendor set-up; Buying activities; Logistics; Receiving; Inventory; Vendor Payment.

This position will develop work plans related to relevant Procurement processes for all Departments.

This position will identify and resolve issues related to quality, cost, and delivery to minimize the risk of interrupted supply.

This position will manage and enhance supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts to obtain optimal results related to quality, cost, delivery, and service.

This position will complete the following activities as required: data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, award, implementation across units, contract administration, and compliance monitoring.

This position will suggest modifications in systems and processes to solve problems or improve overall effectiveness.

This position will need to have the capabilities to hire and develop a procurement team.

Experience:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in the procurement and purchasing field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in the logistics and warehousing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated successful navigation in a highly matrixed environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of negotiations, procurement strategies and approach as well as regulatory environment
  • End-to-end supply chain knowledge
  • Knowledge of system and processes related to optimizing the procurement function
