Position Title: Procurement/Buyer Manager
Report To: Director of Operations
Type: Full-Time – Salary – Exempt
JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced Procurement/Buyer Manager will ensure that all locations have sufficient materials, equipment and supplies/inventories to meet market demands and balance the need to maintain positive turn and limited overstock with the need to take advantage of purchasing at favorable pricing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Analyze price proposals and other data and information to determine reasonable and fair costs.
· Review requisitions, solicit bid proposals, and place purchase orders for goods and services.
· Research and evaluate suppliers based on purchase history, price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and customer requirements.
· Manage and update ERP system by entering accurate due dates of products and lead times.
· Collaborate with accounting to ensure all PO’s and invoices are accurate.
· Assist Shipping & Receiving department to identify a resolution for any discrepancies that may arise.
· Identify potential bottlenecks and implement procurement strategies which support the company goals and long-term outsourcing objectives
· Perform day-to-day purchasing functions
· Ensure all goods and services are procured according to technical specifications
· Communicate open PO status weekly and efficiently monitor all open purchase orders
· Track on time delivery misses/stock outs and implement corrective action
· Act as a liaison between supplier and Accounts Payable to resolve issues
· Communicate effectively to provide order status, information and to resolve issues
· Communication & Building Relationships: Work with cross functional groups such as scheduling, production, inventory etc. to foster good relationships for successful execution of work process.
· Manage quality, service, and cost metrics. Regularly analyze and report on measured data while developing and implementing specific plans to achieve improvements.
· Cross-train on other responsibilities in the Order Management & Logistics department as assigned
· Complete additional duties assigned
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelors Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management Preferred
· 5+ Year within Chemical Manufacturing Industry or Similar Industry Required
· 3 Year of Logistics, Retail, or Customer Service Experience Required
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Strong sense of time organization and urgency
· Able to work independently and within a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
