Produce Buyer in Conneticut

Strong, growing produce company seeking a Produce Buyer that has experience in produce and other perishable procurement.

Responsibilities:

· Manage purchasing decisions and order fulfillment with a daily goal to achieve 100% fill rate

· Work with vendors to improve and maintain relationships

· Negotiate pricing with vendors and inbound transportation

· Responsible for reducing safety stock inventory

· Work with sales team and marketing to reach goals

· Work on continuous improvement and quality

Qualifications:

· Looking for strong analytical skills and fresh produce and or food purchasing knowledge.

· Demonstrated knowledge of produce products, suppliers, and retailers, vendors, market pricing factors, and quality indicators.

· Strong with communication both orally and in writing

· Strong in analytics

· Computer skills

Compensation:

Competitive base salary plus benefits

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $950,000.00 per year

• New Haven, CT: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
