The purpose of the Product Analyst is to utilize market data to help Credit Acceptance develop marketing/dealer/consumer strategies for a product by comparing a company's product and industry trends.

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Evaluate company products to understand the product and see if it will meet the company’s current and future needs
  • Assist with product ratings and reviews
  • Analyze metrics to continually improve products while developing and overseeing small-to-medium-scale projects
  • Work with other departments to enhance the analysis and presentation of a product
  • Work with data analysis software to determine a product's potential sales and profitability and monitor its performance to define strategies that improve the products’ performance
  • Gather requirements for data needs from product leaders or business users
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Stakeholders and Engineering team members to achieve objectives.
  • Work with Data and Reporting product leaders to prioritize data requests
  • Show insight; know your data; offer simple, straight forward analysis.
  • Analyses the risk, impact, and value of both current and future products to the business.
  • Recognizes risks early and escalates in a timely manner.
  • Recognize upstream and downstream impacts; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Understands the company’s business operations and each products’ business process and how they interact with each other

Competencies: The following items detail how you will be successful in this role.

  • Elicitation Techniques: Engage Product and Stakeholders from multiple departments to build a shared understanding of the opportunity.
  • Facilitation Techniques: Organize, support and/or conduct workshops, meetings, presentations specific to the objectives of each, problem to be solve, and needs of the audience.
  • Impact Analysis: Understand the rationale behind and how changes impact the enterprise and/or applications and across the technical ecosystem.
  • Requirements Management: Plan, execute, monitor, and control any or all of the work associated with requirements elicitation and collaboration, requirements analysis and design, and requirements life cycle management.
  • Solution Design: Ability to translate high level requirements to create and implement designs that meet the needs of the customer, are technically sound, maintainable and cost effective. Ability to identify missing or ambiguous requirements. Ability to design at both high and low levels of abstraction, understand complex requirements and translate into understandable solutions. Ability to accurately estimate based on requirements.
  • Technical Domain: Have an understanding of the technical domain, including the application architecture, design and data of the application they support and systems to which it interfaces.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, mathematics, or related fields or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-year experience in Product Analyst or related role in Product Management
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience documenting user requirements

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience supporting a web application as a business/quality/functional analyst
  • Basic knowledge of web technology
  • Ability to query a database (SQL / PLSQL)
  • Basic understanding of Java technologies
  • Product certifications (CSPO, CPO)
  • Knowledge of testing tools such as JIRA /Service Now
  • Respond promptly and effectively to problems, projects, and tasks
  • Be organized, with ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple requests
  • Convey complex information in a timely and easily understood way to all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrate insight; make recommendations as opportunities arise
  • Be self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with moderate supervision
  • Maintain customer focus; keep the customer’s and company’s best interest in mind
  • Work well with abstract concepts. Be analytical. Solve problems

Targeted Compensation: $87,750 - $102,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b/ H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
