Summary

Product Design Engineering is a profession that requires technical skills, and experience in a manufacturing environment. The following are responsibilities and qualifications that are suggested to perform at a high level for MAC Trailer:

Responsibilities

• Design, model and create assemblies using CAD software.

• Issue and prepares detailed drawings, specifications for shop production.

• Responsible for trailer design development and continuous improvement of existing and future products.

• Define part numbers and assembly structures for input into Bills of Materials.

• Determine long lead time items for an advanced bill of materials for purchasing

• Create and maintain all engineering procedures and documents.

• Engineering support for all internal departments, outside sales and customers.

• Perform and have the ability to carry out basic engineering calculations.

• Determine requirements based on sales specs for overall engineering product design

• Evaluating material cost and strategizing the most cost-effective means for production

• Determine legal requirements based on DOT regulations for final design

• Confers with research and development and prepares design modifications as required

• Evaluating material weights to manufacture a durable but light product

• Computer skills essential to the position.

• Ability to manage time and multiple tasks at once.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred

• Associates degree from a technical college or university

• Or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Wage Range: $65,000 - $90,000
