You are a design team leader with excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills. You and your team are integral to the product creation process – from conducting context-based user research to storyboarding and communicating concept mockups. You will model the practice of translating user needs, business objectives, and technology capabilities into innovative design solutions.

What you will do:

Manage a team of designers while balancing your own portfolio of high-priority projects.

Challenge and empower team members by providing continuous candid feedback.

Learn Bloomberg Industry Group’s users, their jobs, tasks, use cases, and goals. Involve end users in early product definition, design concept evolution, validation, and usability testing.

Leverage product analytics and qualitative research when considering design options. Advocate for solutions that impact target metrics and drive success for the business.

Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to some of our clients’ hardest problems.

Explore different ways to address user needs. Identify pros & cons, questions, and implications related to design decisions. Make smart trade-offs that balance quality, speed of delivery, and value.
You need to have:
-
7 years of experience designing mobile/web applications.

3 years of people leadership experience

Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data informed narrative.

Experience designing and delivering excellent demos/prototypes to showcase vision to stakeholders.

Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery.

Degree or specific training in Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Product Design, Interactive Media, Graphic Design (or a related field). Experience and portfolio may be considered in lieu of degree/certification.

Experience with current design software (Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD/CC, or equivalent)

Portfolio that showcases samples of design work required.
