About the Position

This position is responsible for supporting Goodyear’s Off-The-Road, Commercial, and Consumer tire business needs by conducting testing using department tools, procedures, and processes. Position will be responsible for the set-up, completion, and reporting of tire tests as well as the quality of the test data that will be reported to Design Engineers. The position is technical in nature, but does not require an engineering degree.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide support to design engineers and scientists to help meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Follow strict industry standards, procedures, and processes to ensure that quality test data is generated
  • Understand the problem to determine/suggest required testing method
  • Perform database queries, analyze data in Excel spreadsheets or other forms
  • Support evaluation of products or technologies by providing timely updates, summarizing test results, and writing test reports
  • Work in a team environment to meet goals
  • Coordinate testing to maximize quality and efficiency
  • Address test related issues (logistics, instrumentation etc.), create solutions, and provide test results to engineers within established deadlines
  • Perform competitor benchmarking and analysis
  • Support evaluation of products or technologies by using analysis tools
  • Support overall department by following department processes
  • Communicate written/verbal information or data to other associates
  • Obtain required training and skill development for position specific skills as well as pursuing personal development opportunities

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) desired
  • Professional certification desired
  • 4+ years of experience required in general industry, manufacturing, or technical field without degree OR 1+ year of experience in general industry, manufacturing, or technical field with an Associate’s degree in relevant STEM field.

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of mechanics and automotive technology
  • Ability to comprehend statistical design and analysis, cause and effect analysis, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized methods
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software preferred
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
