PRODUCT SPECIALIST, WIRE AND PIPE

Summary/Objective*
This person is responsible for supporting the sales force as the commodities product expert to drive sales and increase product knowledge. Coordinate with operations regarding logistics surrounding commodities as they move through our distribution centers and eventually to our customers. This individual will build relationships with our strategic partners and vendors to ensure the best pricing possible for United.

Essential Functions*
- Project Management
- Coordinate with operations on incoming opportunities, assessing capacity, logistics and ability to meet customer demands.
- Guide/Delegate to the inside sales team accordingly.
- Expert on ERP System and Processes.
- Quote as needed
- Serves as a product expert within the region.
- Supports marketing our capabilities internally to members of the sales force as well as to project managers.
- Analyzes the market and makes recommendations for commodities.
- Runs promotions to drive sales.
- Frequently completes joint sales calls to market our capabilities.
- Negotiates with vendors to earn the best pricing possible while still maintaining positive relationships.
- Identifies and takes advantage of bundling opportunities with pricing and/or product.
- May participate on SPAM Team
- Develops ongoing positive relationships with Sales Team, local manufacturer’s reps and agents. Focuses on growing sales and hitting rebate targets with our high net profit manufactures.
- Makes recommendations on inventory by articulating the needs of customers and researching the financial impacts.
- Coordinates with all internal departments regarding logistics surrounding commodities as they move from the manufacturer through our distribution centers and eventually to our customers.
- Follows-up with customers and vendors, keeping track of job status and assisting in closing orders.
- Adhere to all United Electric health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Act in a safe and positive manner always, ensure that those around you do not put themselves or others at risk. Your personal safety is your responsibility.
- Complete an accident/Incident report for any safety and/or health infractions that occur or witnessed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
