SUMMARY


The Production Assembler 2 assembles fabricated parts at floor stations. Tests and calibrates electrical parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.

  • Knows part number of common components.

  • Receives job orders from Supervisor and reviews for part needs.

  • Fastens parts together using hand and power tools.

  • Checks all parts for proper fit during assembly.

  • Performs quality control check on all material to be assembled and repairs or replaces as needed.

  • Inspects finished product to ensure it meets required application. Troubleshoot specific areas of the system if it is not functioning properly and changes out part or fixes as needed.

  • Assembles subassemblies for Aftermarket and Service departments.

  • Stocks assembly area with necessary parts in an orderly fashion.

  • Maintains buy cards for two-bin system and forwarding them to the Group Leader.

  • Prepares, crates and packages finished units for shipment with accessories and manuals.

  • Picking and shipping orders.

  • Assists Engineering with the design/redesign of new and current units.

  • Assists Engineering with the assembly of prototype units.

  • Initiates activities required in the normal day-to-day activities of the department.

  • Follows all company safety rules and practices.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES


  • Responds to technical questions from customer service.

  • Assists in the training of new employees.

  • Assists with removal of snow or other facility clean up.

  • Maintains good company image and customer relations when dealing with internal and external contacts.

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned from time to time.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

  • High school education or GED preferred.

Experience / Abilities:

  • Must have previous experience in an assembly position

  • May be required to have formal training in area of specialty

  • Ability to read and interpret general business information

  • Ability to communicate with other departments and co-workers

  • Ability to apply general math skills to a variety of business needs


Computer skills:

  • Computer literacy helpful
