Job Overview
The Production Control Manager manages and coordinates the production and manufacturing schedules, flow of materials (raw and finished goods) between departments, the purchasing, receiving, inventory and shipping of materials. They help manage day-to-day goals of the production and manufacturing teams, working hand in hand with the Production and Manufacturing Managers for specific area tasks and responsibilities. Using both the D365 ERP system and in-house software, they set the strategic direction for their team which oversees the schedules, review of required materials / parts, and doing whatever it takes to ensure 100% complete and on time delivery.
Job Functions
- Develop and Manage S&OP Process by Anticipating customer requirements
- Manage team executing Production, Fabrication, Weld, Paint and Sub Assembly Scheduling and Planning.
- Oversee Material Handling, Receiving and Shipping
- Internal and External customer service focus
- Strong in building relationships and able to communicate on all levels
- Manage Production Control for launch of new programs within the plant
- Develops, recommends, and implements materials policies and procedures; maintains QS9001 requirements, manages the Annual physical inventory.
- Ensure staffing, training, and development of team members
- Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.
- Ensure the deployment of the Employee Pulse Checks (Direct Report Weekly Check ins, Quarterly and Annual Review)
- Set strategic direction and maintain oversight for all items related to Production Control.
- Manage lead time requests from sales department
- Support Production and Manufacturing area 5S, TPS, and Safety agenda
- Supervise day to day activities
- Assume the responsibility of the PDP (Master Scheduling Plan)
- Manage coordination of Shipping Finished Goods and Replacement Parts
- Responsible for the proper model year phase-out programs and initiating and processing the resulting obsolescence claims.
- Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.
- Manages the shipping and receiving functions of the plant, and oversees the storage of purchase parts and finished goods
- Build and meet the budget for Material and Finished Goods
- Ensure the reporting of plant logistics performance and plant logistics action plan
- Ability to see and communicate the vision of Bastian Solutions and Toyota
- Continuous improvement
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
- Participate to the development of the Division PC&L network
- Use Microsoft D365ERP for Scheduling, Planning, Reporting and Forecasting Production
- Manage and Execute the Inventory Cycle Counting Program. TO include development of policies and procedures, execution of ABC cycling of inventory, root-cause analysis of discrepancies, reporting of cycle counting performance, and reporting to Plant Leadership as required

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in this role in an manufacturing environment
- B.S. in Business or a management related field
- 5 years’ experience in Production, Inventory Control, Scheduling, and/or Master Planning
- Direct experience in supervising both clerical and hands on employees is necessary and ability to work effectively with both employees and managers required
- Strong teamwork sense
- Strong communication & problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills required
- Strong analytical skills, organizational, and administrative skills are essential
