Job Summary
The Production Control Manager manages the production control function for assigned manufacturing locations. This role provides accurate information to the production floor in order to efficiently and effectively build orders for customer demands and maintains standard practices for the manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Lead through the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s business strategies and objectives and ensure department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.
2. Execute work order release and completion processes for whole goods orders and parts orders.
3. Monitor schedule performance and communicate potential changes with the corporate scheduling team.
4. Ensure projects and customer requests are completed on time and with accuracy to meet customer expectations. Ex.: coordinating physical inventory.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience with production control; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Ability to provide reliable information in a timely manner and maintain 100% accuracy.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, MRP systems, value streams and lean processes.
- Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships, which encourage openness with customers and peers.
- Ability to provide accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize projects and multi-task to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Ability to manage the forecasting of customers’ needs.
Travel
Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.
