Job description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Leads the plant in achieving on time performance and attainment of operational Key Performance Indicators through diligent follow up and determination of optimum order sequencing, control of WIP (Work in Process), and Finished Goods management.
Works closely with the corporate Master Scheduler to determine production priorities and efficient schedule sequences in support of excellent customer service while minimizing cost and changeover time.
Configures new production jobs and updates production schedules on a timely basis while assuring the correct associated product identification tags are available on the shop floor.
Monitors production progress and work-in-process inventory on a continual basis to assure effective machine utilization and excellent on time order performance.
Maintains a daily shop floor presence that reinforces the position as a leadership resource for all levels of production employees.
Collects data, creates, and maintains various reports concerning plant production and communicates status of orders to the corporate Master Scheduler and General Manager.
Accurately tracks and reports raw material inventory. Monitors consumption and initiates orders so that minimum/maximum inventory levels are always retained.
Assists with all quarterly physical inventories by setting up and providing tally sheets and performing other necessary tasks to assure effective physicals are accomplished.
Must be capable of leading the plant on a fill in basis for assigned periods in the plant General Manager's absence.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Oracle and other Insteel computer systems is required.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to manage a team of 6-8 hourly employees performing various tasks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business or quantitative methods preferred. Combination of related experience and other education and training may be considered.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years work-related experience is required.
