SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for maximizing well production and by optimizing, maintaining, and analyzing wells, and making recommendations for operational improvements to optimize operating expenses and reduce well failure frequency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor production trends, plan and coordinate well repair, recompletion, facility, and construction operations
- Execute inflow performance and nodal analyses to assist with designing and maintaining appropriate artificial lift, well integrity, sand production, water management, tubing sizing, and chemical programs
- Evaluate surface infrastructure both gas and water flow lines and design based on friction, pressure, and economics
- Design and execute pressure build up and interference tests
- Select, design and recommend downhole and surface configurations
- Perform, analyze, and generate suggestions to maximize gas recovery and reduce LOE
- Troubleshoot downhole issues and reduce well failure frequency
- Analyze and problem solve production variances and facility deficiencies
- Communicate with Engineers, Production Superintendents, Foreman and Lease Operators on a regular basis to maintain a complete understanding of wells and any existing issues
- Perform all the above in accordance with laws and regulations and safety compliance and best practices
- Organize, execute and evaluate well tests including build up, drawdown, and interference testing
- Generate and review capital/expense AFEs for facility, workover, and regulatory expenditures
- Investigate new technologies and implement when appropriate
- Coordinate with wellsite supervisor and service providers to execute workover procedures
- Work with other disciplines including facilities engineering, SCADA, I&E, and measurement to improve production facility operation, design, and reduce cost
- Work closely with a full asset team field operations, reservoir, drilling, completions and facilities engineering, geology, land, and regulatory groups
- Manage and optimize chemical programs treating scale, corrosion, H2S, etc.
- Lead regularly scheduled well reviews with field operations and reservoir engineers
EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or related engineering discipline
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in production engineering, with a portion of that experience with unconventional horizontal high pressure gas wells
- Field production operations and prior Haynesville experience preferred
- Experience in design, operation, and optimization/troubleshooting of artificial lift systems with special emphasis on gas lift & plunger lift design, install and optimization
- Experience in cased-hole operations (coiled tubing, wireline, workover) required
- Experience in design, operation, and optimization of well pad facility measurement, emissions controls, and operational efficiency
SKILLS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set
- Self-motivated and capable of independently integrating within multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate complex issues effectively with all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Excel, Spotfire, and experience working with various production reporting software suites and common production design programs such as Carte/TotalRod and SNAP or similar nodal tool required
- Familiarity with economic programs such as ARIES or PHDwin preferred
- Have a working understanding of surface compression and gas gathering
- Have a good working knowledge of high pressure/temperature gas wells & their operation/optimization
JOB CONDITIONS:
On worksite locations, incumbents must be able to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame-resistant clothing. Safety rules, including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel: Up to 60% (Primarily in Haynesville Field Operations)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Anticipated Salary Range: $135,000 - $165,000 plus Bonus
Benefit Eligible: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Vacation, Sick and Holiday pay along with other benefits plans offered to similarly situated employees.
