Principal Purpose of Job

The Production Leads’ role is to ensure safe and efficient production activities by supporting the production plan and shift supervisor. The duties of a Lead may include but are not limited to, conducting shift start-up, assigning personnel to equipment, inspecting documentation for accuracy, leading shift break plans, and being available to all shift personnel to answer quality or production-related concerns. A shift Lead will be required to work closely with the shift supervisor to execute the production plan. The shift Lead must communicate effectively and efficiently with cross-departmental personnel in addition to on-coming and off-going shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make safety the shifts’ priority
• Execute an efficient transition between shifts to ensure maximum equipment efficiency
• Carry out appropriate instructions by the shift supervisor
• Provide proper documentation to shift personnel (Travelers, print tags, labels…)
• Adjust personnel on production lines as needed and maintain peak production efficiency
• Drive equipment change over and ensure proper documentation is available
• Work closely with Quality personnel to ensure that the product meets the standards set by the customer
• Support Lean events and daily GEMBA walk

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, plus 2+ years leadership role in manufacturing.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, statistics).
• Ability to analyze reports.
• Effective analytical skills with demonstrated success in problem-solving.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good Interpersonal skills needed; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Safety: knowledge of basic PPE in the workplace.
• Basic computer skills. (Microsoft Outlook, word, excel, and PowerPoint)
• Dexterity, physical strength, and physical stamina.
• Passing score on math, attention to detail, and basic writing pre-employment assessment test.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently lift components weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to walk the production floor majority of the shift
• Ability to speak in public situations and in front of crowds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
