Job description
Overall Purpose of Position: Under the leadership of the plant PC&L Manager, the Production Scheduler plans the work schedule of production departments using work order information and available resources (i.e. inventory quantities, equipment availability, labor resources, etc.) ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Production Scheduling and Schedule Attainment
* Ensures the most recent order demand information is obtained through regular and
timely communication with the customer
* Ensures releases and availability of materials to support production schedulers through
coordination with material schedulers
* Develops production schedule(s) according to customer demand, ensuring on-time
delivery of finished goods to support customer orders
* Provides accurate documentation/shop cards to production departments
* Monitors production schedule attainment daily, weekly, and monthly developing
corrective action plans in coordination with production departments as required
* Monitors the production schedule daily, weekly, and monthly making adjustments as
necessary based upon customer orders, inventory availability, and equipment
availability
* Monitors inventory levels and plans monthly cycle counting activities
* Resolves all opens issues in a timely manner.
* Provides production departments with accurate documentation/shop cards
* Prepares reports as required
* Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Understanding of manufacturing material resource planning (MRP)
* Strong math skills
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
* Strong computer skills, expertise in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Axapta / MS
Dynamics preferred)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing timelines
* Experience building relationships and fostering teamwork
* Minimum of three (3) years in manufacturing environment with at least one (1) year in
scheduling and/or material planning
* Bachelors Degree in related field strongly preferred, or equivalent education and
experience
