Plant location:: Greater Lincoln, AL /Pell City, AL area

Summary

The Production Planner Specialist works with Purchasing agent and Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement of quality and on-time order shipment by ensuring that all needed resources are available on time for the plant to achieve the production plan while ensuring that policies and procedures are followed as well as develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. Planning, organizing, directing, and ensuring that orders exceed our customer's expectations. Increasing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.

Responsible for safety, production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.

Qualifications:

Proven work experience in a production planning-related role, or equivalent leadership experience in a manufacturing role.

Prior experience in material management and manufacturing environment is preferred.

Proficient in the use of Excel and other software systems essential to the position. comfortable learning new software systems.

Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes computer literacy.

Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.

Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.

Background, DMV, credit check, and drug and alcohol screening may be conducted as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Extensive use of computers and computer programs including but not limited to Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office Programs, Sage ERP Programs, and to support the application of new software tools necessary to achieve the company goals.

Continually participate in additional training related to the jobs.

Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.

Deal with daily issues during normal business hours, add or extra hours will be required.

Fill in for Purchasing agent in the event of absence,

Receive in and break down sales orders daily and integrate new orders into the previously developed productions plan for the team.

Identify conflicts in the production plan and work to resolve those issues. Issue the production plans to the respective teams as required.

Update Required reports daily.

Help to resolve and ensure orders for customers are on time and of good quality.

Be flexible with OT when needed, which may be coming in early, working late, and /or working weekends.

Physical demands include

Must be able to move about the environment, carry and move about the plant. Must be able to use hands to fingers and hangle or feel or reach with hands and to talk or hear.

Protective Equipment

Safety glasses, safety-toe shoes/boots, hard hats, and earplugs.

Pay: $23.00 - $24.38 per hour
