Job Description
Brooks is a growing, fast-paced technology leader of automation solutions which support the dynamic and expanding semiconductor and life sciences lab markets. Brooks is looking for a next generation leader to come in and help transform our systems operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ability to hire, develop, train, and grow operation to meet customer demand
- Own and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for department including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
- Leverage data analytics to identify, prioritize, and drive root cause corrective actions
- Develop both short term (1 year) and long term (3-5 year) operations strategy
- Drive continuous improvement through the real implementation of lean manufacturing and SPC
The right candidate will have a high degree of freedom to drive change and create a world class operation.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The right candidate will have deep knowledge of lean manufacturing. Experience implementing Statistical Process Controls (SPC). Understand both the theory and application (don’t worry we have a team of engineers to do the fancy math). Experience managing a manufacturing direct labor workforce (or a real desire to gain this experience). Experience in managing operations metrics and KPI (key performance indicators). Ability to communicate effectively in both shop floor settings and at executive reviews. High energy with the desire to drive change and create a world class operation.
We are looking for that rare combination of hands on “doer” and strategic thinker that can leverage this high visibility role into more responsibility in the future.
Preferred/Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelors or advanced degree with one to three years of operational experience.
- Experience in an Operational Rotational program with a leading company that emphasizes a broad range of operational functions (beneficial but not required)
- Experience in the semiconductor industry or industrial robotics (beneficial but not required)
- Experience with Safety Protocols (people and product) regarding automation and robotics
- Technical aptitude including complex machinery
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required
- Result driven with the ability to work well independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask handling multiple priorities simultaneously
