Carolina Canners supplies its stockholders and neighboring bottlers with the highest of quality soft drinks from a very modern production center located in Cheraw, SC. Carolina Canners has expanded many times and now has 2 can production lines, 2 bottle production lines, 1 hot fill production line and a fountain syrup production line producing numerous brands, flavors, and packages of water, fruit juice drinks, tea, energy drinks and carbonated and non- carbonated soft drinks.
Job Description:
Supervise front line production employees to meet customer needs and achieve standards related to cost, line efficiencies, waste, safety, and productivity.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead production employees to achieve performance standards with regards to Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, line utilization and quality.
- Oversee production operation to maximize efficiency. Ensure facility equipment reliability to minimize downtime.
- Assess equipment issues before involving maintenance personnel.
- Verify food safety documentation and production reporting accuracy.
- Work with other departments to ensure the correct personnel are involved with any issue that may arise.
- Minimize waste and ensure waste is separated for recycling.
- Verify or oversee the verification of proper raw material application and coding.
- Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training and communication for front-line hourly production employees.
- Effectively hold employees accountable for assignments and behavior.
- Administer policies and procedures including issuing disciplinary actions and completing pay increases.
- Ensure the completion of the day to day operations of the production team.
- This role requires off-shift and weekend work.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent background preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of high-speed manufacturing or operations experience preferred.
- Experience in a food or beverage manufacturing facility is a plus.
- Demonstrated front-line supervisory skills.
- Strong employee relations, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Self-motivated and problem-solving ability.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and parts, and manipulating things.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a periodic basis.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of various types of materials and parts.
- Must be able to climb onto and off of machinery throughout the shift (8-10 hours per day).
- Bending and stooping is routine during the work shift.

Salary commensurate with experience.
