JOB SUMMARY

Supervise the processing of float glass production, including cutting, packing, closing, inspection and forklift operation. Maintain high productivity while insuring safety measures are followed and company standards are maintained. Direct shift meetings to provide excellent communication with your team.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plan, organize and direct activities in the cutting and cold end department of the plant.

· Maintain effective communication to lead and direct the production floor

· Coach team members, providing performance feedback to support development of the team's skills and knowledge. Participate in interviewing and selecting new team members

· Organize daily schedules in the most effective manner to supply manpower to the production process or for support of special projects as needed.

· Support all safety rules and guidelines in the performance of work and ensure adherence with all policies and procedures through development of team members accountability.

· Coordinate the line to maximize the production of glass and monitor the Low-E process to meet color and performance requirements.

· Maintain quality to specifications and communicate non-conformances, take containment actions and lead or assist root cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.

· Create work orders and work with the maintenance department to ensure equipment is kept in good operating condition. Maintain safe working conditions.

· Ensure record keeping is maintained accurately.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience

1. High school degree or GED required. Prefer four year degree/ or equivalent relevant experience

2. Prefer 3-5 years supervisory experience

3. Ability to understand technical production concepts

4. Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office applications

5. Ability to be on your feet for entire shift

6 Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to create accountability and lead by example
