Glen-Gery Corporation, a leading brick manufacturer, has excellent career opportunities in our Lawrenceville Plant, VA for an experienced Production Supervisor.

Due to our continued growth we have openings for 2 x experienced Production Supervisors with 1st and 2nd shifts available.

Founded in 1890, Glen-Gery Corporation is one of the nation’s largest brick manufacturers and operates nine brick manufacturing facilities and one manufactured stone facility. Glen-Gery products are sold nationally through a network of over 500 distributors as well as in Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisor Safety Responsibilities:

• Responsible for safe operation of all manufacturing processes to include, coordinating department safety training for all employees, both individual & group level, and maintaining all training documentation as required
• Responsible for the implementation of the LOTO and all other GG Safety Policies and Procedures
• Organize and coordinate Safety Tool Box Talks as required
• Responsible for Safety, Quality and Housekeeping audits in all responsible departments
• Responsible for all accident investigations for all responsible departments

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Product quality, meeting all established GG quality standards - training of all responsible staffing to maintain or exceed this standard
• Manufacturing crews will consist of 6 - 12 employees
• Preventative maintenance/repairs in the facility and all equipment in department of responsibility
• Responsible for goal setting and annual reviews (performance management)
• Responsible for scheduling, labor management and daily functions
• Vacation scheduling
• Maintaining Hourly staffing
• Responsible for enforcing discipline of employees when applicable, per Plant Rules and Plant Safety policies
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators and metrics to adequately control quality and costs as associated department of responsibilities
• Attend meetings with Operations management staff
• Monitor and improve efficiencies, reducing downtime in all associated departments
• Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to plant management
• Responsible for assuring manufacturing and associated maintenance costs are maintained within budgeted levels
• Responsible for Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in associated departments

Requirements and Skills:

• Technical Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• 5 year minimum work experience in an industrial manufacturing work environment
• Supervisory and management experience in a production manufacturing environment
• Ability to work multiple shifts
• General mechanical skills and abilities.
• Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel
