Cardinal Glass Inc is IMMEDIATELY Hiring Production Technicians for Evening and Graveyard shifts at Los Angeles facility.

Essential Functions:

• Reading production schedules to determine items to be cut, tempered, and/or shipped, based on workstation assigned.

• Conveying lites of glass from cutting table to edge deletion conveyors, from edge deletion conveyors to washer and furnace load bed, from offload conveyor to packing racks/frames, depending on workstation assigned.

• Cutting Table: Break out cut-to-size (scored) lites of glass from large plates. Removing pieces from cutting table and placing on Ashton conveyor for seaming and edge deletion. Removing scrap pieces of glass from cutting table and dispose of in designated scrap glass hoppers.

• Tempering: Position lites of glass on washer conveyors in preparation of furnace tempering. Monitoring furnace temperatures and adjusting as needed based on ambient temperature and glass type/thickness. Conducting break pattern tests on test pieces of glass with every glass thickness change to ensure compliance with state and federal codes. Cleaning out broken glass from furnace and quenching as needed.

• Offloading/Packing: Removing tempered lites of glass from offload conveyor. Checking customer label and placing lite on designated rack or A-frame. Preparing complete racks/A-frames for shipment. Ensuring all required documents are attached to rack/A-frame prior to staging for shrink wrapping and shipment.

• All employees assigned to the above workstations may be required to rotate from station to station as needed.

• Wearing the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the workstation assigned, following all plant safety rules, and being responsible for keeping the assigned workstation clean, orderly, and free of trash and debris.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to read a tape measure proficiently to 1/16th of an inch.

Skills and Abilities

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Experience: 6 plus months of experience is a plus.

Computer Skills: General computer literacy is a plus.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, manually manipulate, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, bend and able to push/ lift to 60 pounds.

• Sense of Sound - Ability to hear emergency alarms and plant paging system.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and raw and tempered glass. The employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles (dust), heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Rate ranges from $16-$19/ hour depending on experience.

Differential pay for Graveyard shift (additional $1.5/ hour)
