Position Intro:

The CU College of Nursing is seeking a 1.00 FTE Professional Research Assistant to work within the Office of Research and Scholarship.

Position Summary:

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, Office of Research and Scholarship has an opening for a 1.00 FTE Professional Research Assistant. This position is responsible for supporting coordination and execution of research and evaluation projects. Competitive candidates will be outgoing, detail-oriented, innately curious, highly motivated to excel in a dynamic team environment, and have practical experience in a health services research environment. The primary responsibility of the position will be to support research and evaluation project execution such as: participant recruitment & retention, regulatory compliance, data collection & management, communications management, resource procurement and schedule monitoring.


The PRA reports directly Dr. Teri Hernandez, Associate Dean of Research and Scholarship.


Examples of Work Performed:

  • Support the execution of research & evaluation projects under direction of Principle Investigator (PI) and/or Project Manager (PM):
    • Follow project protocols & processes so as to execute project deliverables per defined requirements.
    • Provide assistance for grant applications & submissions; manage references, biosketches, and communications.
  • Support participant recruitment efforts:
    • Engage potential participants via phone, internet or in person, confirming participant eligibility, inform potential participants and other stakeholders of research opportunities.
    • Maintain contact tracking records, draft recruitment materials.
  • Support management of applicable regulatory requirements:
    • Internal Review Board(IRB)- maintain CITI certification, manage IRB approval processes and documentation, draft consent documents, maintain contact tracking records
    • Privacy – ensure project processes & data management secure patient privacy (ie. HIPAA)
    • Others as applicable, ie Conflict of Interest, etc.
  • Maintain data management system according to all applicable data security, privacy and regulatory standards:
    • Support primary data collection for study records and project metadata
    • Design simple database(s) for data collection and/or storage
    • Support acquisition of secondary data including relevant use agreements
    • Maintain study records, project performance metrics, and other study documentation
    • Ensure secure transfer and storage of all data items throughout project lifecycle
  • Support project communications:
    • With the project team: coordinate meetings, take notes, draft reports, etc.
    • With project stakeholders: reporting, advertising, press releases, web presence & social media, etc.
  • Execute project procurement:
    • Acquire and manage procurement card
    • Execute purchases per institutional standards and regulations
    • Communicate & document purchases per established project/program processes

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring range for this position has been established at $35,600 - $51,760 annually as a Professional Research Assistant.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.


The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting multi-disciplinary research setting and working knowledge of good research practices.
  • Familiarity with Project Management principles, their application to the academic/research environment and/or willingness to pursue training.
