In accordance with the overall plan of VGCC, the Part-Time Professional Academic Skills Tutor reports to the Academic Skills Center Coordinator and is responsible for tutorial needs in Math and the Sciences to students who request services including:

Algebra & Trigonometry

• Human Anatomy & Physiology
• General Biology
• Chemistry

Essential Duties

• Conduct individual and group tutoring sessions with students.
• Assist students assigned to developmental studies laboratories as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tutoring activities and student progress.
• Refer students to the student services i.e. Student Success & Learning Center.
• Tutoring students and providing supervision of student peer tutors.
• Other duties as assigned by Academic Skills Center Coordinator.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:

Associate’s Degree

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

Physical Demands

• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
