Good Shepherd Shelter is a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. (CCLA) which is a transitional shelter for women and children who are escaping domestic violence. The shelter provides shelter in individual apartment units at no cost, case management, trauma-informed therapy for mothers and children, an on-site elementary school, an adult learning center, food, and legal resources.

This established program is seeking a highly motivated Development Assistant to work under the supervision of the Director of Development. Our ideal candidate will provide administrative support for the development office and director. Must be comfortable navigating the day-to-day operation of a fast-paced environment and working independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support in the day-to-day administrative functions for the program
  • Manage the distribution of office correspondence and incoming calls.
  • Assists in all stages of coordinating the logistics of development events and fundraisers to include preparation, site coordination and post-event evaluation.
  • Maintains donor database
  • Compose and distribute acknowledgement letters
  • Gathers required information for proposals and grants.
  • Assists other support staff and volunteers in development projects and assistance
  • Tracks financial success of development activities, including all revenue and expenses
  • Assists in grant preparation and tracking proposal
  • Performs related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Three to five years of related experience
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment
  • Must have Strong social skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be detailed orientated

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
