Messina Group seeks a Project Manager/PMO to define, drive, and manage various program operations functions across the Program Delivery Organization. The team that is accountable for this is the Program Operations team within the PMO, this role being the team lead for that team. This team will be responsible for defining/administering several functions, including Risk and Issue Management, Quality Management, Plan Management, and Resource Management, amongst others. Administering these functions across the program will require collaboration with the Workstream PMs, the Workstreams that make up the Program Delivery Organization. Effective execution of these functions provides the information conduits that are used to serve the Program Governance Model, making the right information available in the right forum for the right people, in a timely way to enable better decision-making.
The role reports to the PMO Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the PMO Lead in the definition and roll-out of the Program Operations functions
  • Across the team, facilitate the definition, driving, and administration of the Program Operations Pillars. Personally own activities for several pillars, while overseeing the same as delegated to team members
  • Work with team members to enhance their productivity and impact
  • Facilitate positive interactions with stakeholders as appropriate
  • Ensure processes are executed effectively, dashboards, agendas, and governance forum sessions are readied and necessary communications are performed in a timely manner
  • In support of the PMO Lead, advance the infrastructure (process and tools) past time-consuming data collection activities to enable information analysis and recommendations that can be used by program leadership

  • Schedule: 8 am- 5 pm
  • Location: Remote/Lisle or Atlanta for occasional meetings
  • Duration: Long Term


Position Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Program experience (a) within a PMO or (b) as a PM rolling into a PMO, including workplan management (deliverable and/or task-based)
  • +5 years program management experience or +7 years large project experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred, though not required
  • Effective in dealing with ambiguity as, in many cases, Program Operations functions are not yet defined. This is not first a role about executing what is, but instead about defining what is, then executing it
  • Effective navigation within a constellation of personnel, including technologists, PMs, change specialists, and executives. Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to coalesce a team around a shared set of goals, define a plan to achieve them, and execute
  • Experience with SharePoint, MS Office Tools, MS Project.
  • Self-starter, organized, goal-driven, and works with integrity and humility.
