Program Specialist – Administrative
USC Marshall School of Business

Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) is seeking a Program Specialist to work closely with the Senior Associate Director of Diversity Officer to effectuate the Marshall School of Business diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. The ODEI provides holistic leadership to all DEI efforts, including protocols, policies, programs, initiatives, communication, budget, recruitment and retention, pedagogy and curriculum, outreach, professional partnerships, development, and research.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provides specialized professional support services to administrators and/or project managers in the administration of research and/or administrative projects. Assists in the administration and coordination of a variety of research and/or administrative projects including planning, budgeting, organizing, research and delivery of services. Coordinates and supervises work assignments of other administrative personnel as assigned.

  • Assist with the management and implementation of DEI logistics for programs and events, including scheduling training sessions/events, communicating with speakers, tracking evaluations data, etc.

  • Assists with the creation of presentation and training materials to support DEI efforts. May lead meetings in support of program.

  • Assist with ODEI budget processing and reimbursements

  • Coordinates administrative needs for DEI program, including meeting set up, material prep, communication reminders, vendors, and community activities

  • Creates and coordinates communication and distribution of resources with internal and external stakeholders in support of departmental activities, including managing DEI resources available on the ODEI website.

  • Curates a list of recommended posts for social media engagement related to DEI and collaborate with Marketing Communications to drive internal and external awareness and support.

  • Manages and responds to internal inquiries about DEI initiatives and activities.

  • Supports development, reporting, and forecast of metrics for DEI program and activities.

  • Support the implementation of all ODEI objectives and goals in an inclusive and collaborative manner

  • Maintain an impeccable sense of confidentiality and discretion.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related professional experience in program specialization, e.g., counseling or teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities and fluctuating workloads

  • Administrative experience, including project management; budgeting; student, staff, and faculty outreach; event planning; student engagement and programming experience

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Confidentiality and discretion when working with multiple stakeholders

  • Detail oriented and self-initiated\

  • Collaborative, team-player open to addressing the myriad needs of the ODEI

  • Experience and/or knowledge regarding diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in higher education and business.

The annual base salary range for this position is $29.04 - $37.62 hourly.
