POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Program Supervisor (Buffalo NY) will coordinate housing search and stabilization supports to eligible homeless families. He/she will ensure that program participants secure affordable housing and organize on-going support services to help formerly homeless participants to remain stably housed. Provide direct supervision to employment specialist. . This includes, but is not limited to mastery of a range of housing options, the provision of oversight for the scheduling of housing interviews, review of all housing related documentation, development and maintenance of housing resources and contacts, record keeping, statistical reports, site coverage; related duties as assigned.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • · Creates, plans and executes activities and plan of work for Housing Department to ensure Placement Targets are met.
  • · Achieves Placement targets set by HUD contracts
  • · Act as liaison with landlords to establish appropriate housing options.
  • · Develops new landlord/owner relationships to ensure a good number of apartment options are always available for housing ready clients.
  • · Assists with understanding federal guidelines/expectations of rent subsidies, tenant obligations and landlord relationships.
  • · Participate and facilitate team meetings to discuss progress in achieving placements and solutions to barriers.
  • · Initiates regular supervision meetings with all subordinates and follows through with recommendations, suggestions, etc. that promote professional growth.
  • · Prepares housing status reports as needed but at minimum monthly. Disseminates information to HAWNY staff and Administrators.
  • · Closely monitors employment specialist performance individually and as a team and progress towards targets.
  • · Conducts Case Conferences with employment specialists in regards to lack of progress towards meeting program goals.
  • · Responsible for reconciling placements on a daily basis. Responsible for monitoring HAWNY reports/entries.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • · 62 college credits or Associates or Bachelor degree in the area of Human Services or social sciences
  • · One year of housing program related experience
  • · Skills & Competencies: Decision making skills, adherence to policy, listening skills, quality orientation, written communication and team work cooperation.
  • · Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft word and use of online reference information

Experience: Case Management, housing placement and human service knowledge

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year

Schedule:
