HERFF JONES, Project Coordinator – Indianapolis, IN
Your Opportunity:
The Herff Jones Production team is looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team in Indianapolis, IN.
Here's How You’ll Make an Impact:
As the Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting with implementing and maintaining an environment of Lean and Six Sigma within our Indianapolis Facilities. Additionally, you will help run projects that shape the direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of Lean systems infrastructure in all phases of the operations.
This is a Regular Fulltime position with benefit eligibility including, medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), paid time off, and additional voluntary benefits.
Shift: Standard shift is 8a - 5p Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime will occur based on customer demand.
Hours fluctuate if needed during peak season including Saturdays and Sundays if necessary due to customer demand. Seasons vary between January through end of May.
What We Want You to Accomplish:
First 90 Days:
Learn all product lines and production processes in our business.
Assist with new initiatives and projects as assigned.
Assist with implementation of Engineering Change Request (ECR), Process Change Request (PCR) meetings and projects.
First 180 days:
Assist with data tracking of metrics to help drive improvements
Manage project planners and timelines to ensure all involved parties are completing tasks on time within specs of the project.
Successful completion of at least 10 small projects and 2 medium-large scale projects measured in project planning tool.
First 365 Days:
Responsible for taking action to improve the overall delivery success.
Continue to assist with growing our 7S and Lean programs.
Actively and consistently simplify and enhance the developed processes by maintaining and completing projects assigned on time and within guidelines given by Manager.
Assist all department managers with implementation of projects approved by Plant Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:
Analyze production documentation and associated KPI data to show project success levels.
Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with departments and team members involved in the project.
Help facilitate quality systems, continuous process improvements, and safety initiatives in accordance with Lean thinking throughout the organization.
Advance company metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.
Model and coach Lean applications and training initiatives.
Review project charters and success indicators with Manager.
Perform administrative duties commensurate with the requirements of the organization including data gathering, metrics, reports, and newsletters.
Support with other duties when assigned.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3+ years of Continuous Improvement (Lean/6 Sigma) experience driving team excellence and/or successfully implementing and managing projects.
Demonstrated success completing projects or continuous improvement projects.
Lean, 6 Sigma, Kaizen certifications preferred.
Excellent people skills with the ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely and concise manner. Must have strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Well-organized, be able to multi-task and have a high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with the ability to achieve results independently and through others.
Customer service driven, able to understand and support the business goals and objectives.
Must be a change leader: ability to adapt, assimilate, initiate, support, and reinforce change among the teams.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in an extremely fast pace environment.
Physical Activities:
Daily activity includes but is not limited to:
Reading, communication, lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching.
Being able to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to look at a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to work alone in a quite environment.
Ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally.
