Profile

As Project Director you have overall responsibility and accountability for the project management, performance and reporting, as well as client relations. You head the project Senior Management Team, that comprises the Senior HIV Advisor and the Director Finance and Operations.


Specifically, you will:

  • Provide leadership to project strategic planning, work planning, project implementation and reporting
  • Lead external program planning and reporting, including annual work planning with subgrant recipients
  • Ensure timely, accurate and quality reporting to the client
  • Promote excellent relations with the client and subgrantees
  • Ensure the effective use and coordination of CDC resources and the compliance of the financial systems and controls with CDC standards
  • Develop and manage the project team culture that is inclusive of diverse backgrounds, genders and ethnicity in order to successfully implement the project functions.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the project to CDC, and foster project responsiveness to client requirements

Who are we looking for?


Qualifications:

  • Senior level of working and thinking (preferably Master’s Degree in Public Health or Project Management or equivalent).
  • At least 20 years’ experience at progressively more senior level in project and operational management with demonstrated strong management and coordinating skills
  • Knowledge and experience working with CDC/HSS or State Departments of Health
  • Experience in managing US Government-funded programs is required
  • Knowledge and experience of subgranting to community organizations
  • At least 5 years working experience in HIV project implementation an advantage
  • Working experience in public health is an advantage
  • Excellent communication (both spoken and written English), analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills
