Job Summary

This position supports the Program Director in the management, planning, execution and monitoring of all resources for New Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Subsequent Procedures (Sub Pro). This includes the management, planning, execution and monitoring for (1) Human Capital, (2) Physical Resources, and (3) Budget/Financial resource requirements for the New gTLD Program.

The Sub Pro Project Manager 1 will work closely with a cross-functional Program Team, and will collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and other functions to manage and coordinate the required tasks.

This role may also assist in the management and administration of other program related tasks, as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

The Sub Pro Project Manager 1 will:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the objectives, challenges, and keys to success for Sub Pro as it relates to overall program resources and have the ability to articulate this to others.
  • Manage, plan, execute, monitor and report all Sub Pro resources including human capital, physical resources, and financial resources.
  • Work closely with, and support the Program Team, Human Resources, Finance, and cross-functional teams in the management and coordination of all tasks related to Sub Pro resources.
  • Create targeted reports to executive management and other audiences related to Sub Pro resources.
  • Analyze and clearly present quantitative information to help interpret data, trends, and key points.
  • Prioritize and escalate issues to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Exercise good business judgment in project planning and task execution.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Experienced in managing projects and can apply project management methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new processes, procedures, or situations.
  • Ability to summarize complex issues and provide meaningful analysis.
  • Ability to proactively identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Ability to perform analysis of available information to identify appropriate indicators and create targeted reports and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively with diverse, multi-lingual cross-functional staff distributed globally.
  • Excellent business judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Strong sense of ownership and drive to complete tasks.
  • Commitment to organizational principles of accountability and transparency.
  • Understanding of ICANN and the multistakeholder Internet community.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a relevant field of study.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience.
  • Prior experience in resource management, financial management and project or program management preferred.
  • Prior experience in change management is a plus.
  • Prior international experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working for an international organization strongly preferred.

Languages

  • Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required.
  • Fluent written and spoken language skills in any of the other official United Nations languages is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to work remotely including virtual meetings in different time zones
  • Flexibility to travel 2-3 times a year and more if needed.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise or remotely based on office policies.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear; use hands and arms to reach, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Targeted Base Salary Low:
$68,000
Targeted Base Salary High:
$95,000
