About Your Other Half

Your Other Half is a human resources consulting firm that helps small businesses grow. We partner with business owners to create happy, profit-generating teams through effective human resources and people operations practices.

We are an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, creative team of ten, looking for someone who loves human resources, project management, and client communications to join our team and serve our clients. We currently have two positions open for 2023, and are looking to bring on four to six additional team members to help us to meet the growing needs of our clients.

Key Results for 2023

Co-creating, updating and developing operating project management and organization-wide capacity measurement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to create this function within our company, creating and delivering trainings to the team regarding these SOPs, and operationalizing the SOPs in our project management system, Asana, and across the operations team to ensure team adoption of and accountability to these SOPs.

Ensuring that the Human Resources Service and Success teams, comprised of 10 to 20 Human Resources practitioners, provide all client deliverables within planned timelines at least 50% of the time by June 30, 2023, and at least 75% of the time by December 31, 2023.

Maintaining proactive and responsive daily communications with clients and colleagues, through Zoom video or phone meetings, email, text, or Slack.

About the Project Manager Position

The Project Manager will work with the Your Other Half team to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of client and internal projects.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Best practices / standard operating procedure creation, implementation, training, adoption and normalization with the team.
  • Asana set-up, implementation, training, adoption and normalization with the team.
  • Owning deliverable schedules and timelines across all client projects (approximately 75 clients and 100 projects at any given time).
  • Utilizing Asana (our project management system) to enter new projects, track current projects, and provide weekly/daily checks on status of all projects.
  • Reviewing all client emails making sure all tasks and deliverables are entered in Asana, at an approximate volume of 300 emails per day.
  • Owning client scopes of work and ensuring all deliverables match what was scoped; if not, doing scope changes in collaboration with the Business Operations Associate and Client Lead.
  • Weekly check-ins with each team member to review work assignments, work progress, deliverable timeliness and capacity.
  • Working with the team to redistribute work to meet capacity needs of clients or individual team members, and to manage team member wellbeing across our team
  • Team motivation, encouragement & coaching as needed related to project management and capacity best practices.

Position type: This position is approximately 35 hours per week. There is a contingency period of 90 days. After a successful first 90 days, a regular, ongoing position may be offered but this is not guaranteed.

Start date: January 17, 2023 or any Monday thereafter

Position compensation: $30.00 per hour; as we are committed to equitable compensation, this is not negotiable

Position Location: This is a remote position, but the employee must be based in the U.S.

About You, the Candidate

A strong candidate will be or have:

  • At least five (5) years of project management experience with at two (2) years of those years in a fully remote environment;
  • At least one (1) year of demonstrated human resources or professional services experience in a small business setting (ideally in a company with 100 or fewer employees);
  • At least one (1) year of experience working at the strategic or management level thinking about organizational structure and capacity measurement, new business development pipeline, and/or process development related to project management across a team;
  • A superb communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write and edit adeptly;
  • SUPER detail-oriented, with the ability to ensure accuracy and high quality across multiple responsibilities;
  • Comfortable managing multiple responsibilities at once, and prioritizing amongst them with ease;
  • Experience with online tools including at least three of the following: Asana, Harvest, HelloSign, Google Suite, Slack, and Zoom;
  • Able to learn new things quickly, especially web-based softwares and apps;
  • Able to provide clear information in a timely way to support internal or client decisions;
  • An openness to constructive, supportive feedback and a commitment to consistently improve; and
  • A team player, with a positive, optimistic attitude, and the ability to recognize and celebrate wins of all sizes;
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where the work day passes quickly; and
  • Ability to care deeply about their work and clients, and to disengage mentally and emotionally before and after scheduled work hours as well as on weekends, holidays and during PTO for their own wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will be or have:

  • Experience for multiple bosses, clients or projects at one time;
  • Calm under pressure and unflappable in the face of timely or urgent requests;
  • Able to not only do the work, but also think about how it could be better and more efficient; and
  • Have advanced knowledge and/or training in one or more of the following human resources speciality areas: payroll, benefits, total compensation, organizational design, performance management, policy development, employee onboarding or offboarding, learning and development, change management, talent acquisition, survey development, quantitative survey and data analysis, qualitative focus group and interview data analysis, qualitative or motivational interviewing, employee investigations, and/or employee relations.
