Responsibilities:
Ghafari Associates is looking for a PROJECT MANAGER to join the team. This role will be ON-SITE at the FERRERO plant location in BLOOMINGTON/NORMAL, IL. The position will begin in October 2022 and last (roughly) until December 2023. It is an hourly paid position, with potential for weekly OT pay (1.5x hourly rate) of 5-10 hours. There is also potential for a monthly stipend for expenses.


The Project Manager (PM) inspects, monitors and documents the work in progress on site for facility projects during construction, commissioning, final acceptance, and post-construction phases to ensure the work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and the project schedule.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as a liaison between the contractor, architect and engineers.
  • Review, comment, and approve construction documents.
  • Review, comment, and approve shop submittals.
  • Review, comment, and approve Request For Information (RFI’s) forms.
  • Review project schedules and construction progress.
  • Prepare change orders and review payment applications.
  • Perform Quality Assurance walkthroughs and negotiate/resolve disputes with contractors.
  • Provide field checks and/or investigations as per request of office team.
  • Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project.
  • Attend construction meetings on behalf of AE Team.
  • Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project and provide field reports as requested.
  • Keep abreast of project status from contractors/suppliers throughout construction process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering field, or Construction Management preferred
Skills/Competencies:

  • 10 years of experience with construction and the administration of construction contracts
  • Significant experience in commercial and/or industrial building construction
  • Safety training preferred
  • Fall Protection training preferred
Skills/Competencies:
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Schedule, AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and written skills
