Responsibilities

CHI Great Plains Rehabiliation Services is looking for a Full Time Prosthetist Orthotist Supervisor to join the team!

The Prosthetist Orthotist Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of all prosthetic and orthotic patient care procedures and technical processes. Must oversee the management of comprehensive prosthetic/orthotic patient care through patient assessments, formulation and implementation of the treatment plans, follow-up and practice management. The Prosthetist Orthotist Supervisor will coordinate the day to day management of human resources, internal auditing for quality and accuracy, post payment audits, and staff education.

What You'll Do
  • Is a resource to all GPRS clinical and technical staff, assisting with problem solving, identifying best practice procedures, and teaching staff, in order to increase quality productivity and limit increases in costs, while carrying a full patient load.
  • Makes decisions of products to carry/remove from inventory; monitor O&P inventory, spending, and shipping with Warehouse Lead. Must have a functional capacity for fabrication of Orthotic and Prosthetics.
  • Assessment of patients with impairment of human movement or muscular-skeletal abnormalities to determine a functional intervention. Formulation and implementation of a treatment plan based upon a comprehensive assessment to design an intervention to alleviate limitations and enhance function. Utilization of a follow-up treatment plan to ensure successful orthotic and /or prosthetic outcomes, patient health and quality of life.
  • Understands and complies with third party payer coding and documentation requirements, including the development of annual charge sheets. Resolve payment disputes and negotiate claims calmly and reasonably.
  • Monitors scheduling and delegates tasks to assure minimum staffing levels are maintained to properly care for patient volumes, including clinical schedules, vacation time, on-call scheduling, off-site clinic scheduling, emergent sick leave, and continuing education and yearly qualifying competencies for staff.
  • Possess a valid class D driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

Qualifications
  • Must be a CO, CP, or CPO, in good standing with the America Board for Certification for Prosthetics and Orthotics. Must have completed a NCOPE, (National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education) program with summary residency, or received certification prior to 2004.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in direct patient care, with an aptitude in management.
  • Have a functioning capability for Fabrication of Orthotics and Prosthetics.
