Maine Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our inpatient Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital.
This is a full-time, 36 hours, evening shift position.
The Psych Tech contributes to the achievement of quality care and patient outcomes by maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. To accomplish this goal, the Psych Tech provides care and emotional support to patients as assigned. The Psych Tech may also assist with the collection and documentation of data and in cooperation with the treatment team members, implements individualized treatment plans.
The West Child Psychiatric Unit specializes in the care of children. We offer a 12-bed unit designed for the care of children, generally ages from 6-12 years old and as young as 4, who require acute mental health treatment. Typically, these patients are an imminent risk to themselves or others, or are unable to function at a lower level of care due to their psychiatric symptoms.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School diploma and equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Services preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: N/A
- Demonstrates a proficiency in all aspects at the entry level position.
- Must be able to annually demonstrate competency in seclusion and restraint training.
