The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Psychology Assistant to join the team at the Woodward Resource Center (WRC) in Woodward, which prepares and supports individuals to live in the community of their choice.

The Psychology Assistant assists in providing behavioral services on campus. They administer various adaptive reinforcers, preference, psychiatric and maladaptive behavioral assessments and tests. The Psychology Assistant scores and reports in writing the results of assessments and testing to the Treatment Program Manager, Psychologist and Psychiatrist. The assessments and testing are utilized in development of individual habilitation plans. The Psychology Assistant will write treatment programs under the supervision of the Treatment Program Manager and assist as necessary to the Psychologist and other discipline professionals. They implement priority adaptive and maladaptive treatment programs. The Psychology Assistant will train other staff using Competency-Based Training method. The Psychology Assistant will collect, summarize and interpret behavioral data under the supervision of the Treatment Program Manager for the use of the Psychologist and other Interdisciplinary Treatment Team members.

Perform various assessments of behavior and develop/implement behavior (adaptive and maladaptive) treatment programs. Administer, score and summarize various assessments. Write behavior (adaptive and maladaptive) treatment programs. Conduct/implement behavior treatment programs.

Conduct, summarize and interpret program data for Treatment Program Manager, psychologist and other Interdisciplinary Team Members and self (programs personally responsible for). Conduct Competency-Based Training to direct support staff. Conduct and summarize program reliability checks. Participate in staffing’s, annual evaluations, projects and training. Performs other related work as assigned.

Under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS’s) new vaccine mandate for healthcare workers (published on November 5, 2021 and affirmed by the United States Supreme Court on January 13, 2022), all potential employees of this facility must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of a primary series or a single dose vaccine OR have an approved religious or medical exemption (as determined by the agency) OR have documentation reflecting a temporary delay in vaccination (as determined by the agency in accordance with CDC allowances), prior to the start date. Candidates shall coordinate with agency staff to ensure all requirements are met before the individual provides any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its clients.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, Guidance and Counseling, or Human Development and Behavior;

OR
One year of full-time technical level work experience in the areas mentioned above (such as psychiatric aide, Youth Service Worker, Social Work Associate, Social Worker, Vocational Rehabilitation Assistant, Resident Treatment Worker, Vocational Instructor, or Drug Abuse Counselor) may be substituted for each 30 semester hours of the required education.

Additional Qualification Requirements

For certain designated positions at Glenwood and Woodward Resource Centers, applicants must be a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, or obtain the required certification within a period of time as specified by the appointing authority at the time of hire.
